World Arthritis Day - Letter to The Prime Minister - Please Read
Hi everyone
We’re asking The Prime Minister to protect people with arthritis this winter and beyond by:
- Protecting them from the cost of living crisis by making sure everyone who needs heating to stay healthy gets extra financial support.
- Making sure national plans to bring down waiting times for planned treatment like joint replacements aren’t derailed by winter pressures on our health services - and that people waiting get support.
- Shielding ground-breaking arthritis research from rising inflation and soaring costs, so it can continue to work towards life-changing treatments and potential cures.
If you would like to sign the letter go to this link on the VA Website

Done, thank you. We’ve waited long enough for vital treatment and surgery already. We can’t afford for it to get even worse.

I've signed more in hope than expectation of any positive action by the government 😊

I think Truss will be gone before World Arthritis Day. The way to get things debated in parliament is via this website https://petition.parliament.uk/help
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Thanks for the heads up, @Loggiemod . I don't know how that happened as I just copied and pasted but it should be https://www.gov.uk/petition-government

Could this thread now be removed, please? It makes the whole community look tired, neglected and outdated.

Another day, another prime minister! The subject remains valid so I think all it needs is for this forum topic and the letter to be addressed to the prime minister or government rather than to any "here today gone tomorrow prime minister" (to paraphrase Robin Day) 😊

Good spot @RogerBill I've changed it to PM and I think the letter has also changed to be addressed to the PM, whoever that may remain to be😀

thanks for advocating on the above. Is there any advocating going on over Arthritis not being considered a disability? I am newly diagnosed and have been astonished that the level of pain and exhaustion I struggle with and fluctuating mobility is not catered for in any of the forms for help from government or disability badge etc.
