Really painful knees
Hi I'm new to the site but want to ask if anyone has any advice on how to make my raging painful knees feel easier to cope with, I had a cortisone injection in the left knee 23/9/22, felt fine for about 6/7 days, no reactions to it, took away the constant aching and pain, although my xrays on the both knees are showing bone on bone with very little cartilage left, every day 24/7 is pain, on walking, standing climbing stairs etc, I am taking so much prescribed medication for the pain but to no avail really. Waiting for MCats to come back with a solution meantime appointment for cortisone injection in the right knee 21/10. Thank you.

Hi @Glynis1959
Welcome to the online Community, its great you are posting and enquiring.
You say that you have pain in both knees and xrays show that you are nearly bone on bone very little cartilage.
If i were you i would ask your GP to refer you to Orthopardic clinic for knee replacement, sometimes you have to ask as you are not referred automaticaly.
however you need help with your pain at the moment, here are a few links that may help.
Hope these links help in some way. Please keep in touch and tell us how you get on and do go on line and chat to others you will find everyone friendly and helpful as everyone on the forums have some form of arthritis and levels of pain.
All the best Christine
