Hi, thought I'd get signed up and find the right place to have a moan, oh, I mean get some support for my stupid hip pain. I was diagnosed about 4 yrs ago when i had an xray. At the time i now realise it was groin strain and sciatica, but the xray showed osteoarthritis. It hasn't really given me much trouble until this summer. Now, as a swing dancer, I seize up mid-dance and hobble off the dance floor. I feel really decrepit, too young for this (54, please say I'm too young!) and think I'm only.gping to pile on the weight due to not being as active. I've stopped walking for pleasure, stopped swimming, stopped dancing. I feel miserable.

So here's the good news. Swimming is good for OA. Just don't do the breadt stroke kick. Exercise is essential but maybe not dancing as that involves twists and turns. Also, they now know that diet it far more important for weight loss than exercise. Keep swimming. Keep walking. But know your limits. Yes, it can be boring, but it can also be fun☺
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
