Hello @spyros and welcome to the community. We are a friendly and supportive group and I hope that that will be your experience as well.
I understand that you have arthritis in your knees and hips and looking for recommendations for mattresses. We are of course all different so what suits some doesn't necessarily suit others but I am sure people will start commenting and telling you which they use. In the meantime have a look at the following

I use a lightly inflated air mattress from Decathlon. It has a built in footpump for inflation. It is a double but I sleep alone. I put a thick double quilt on top of the mattress and lay on top of it with a summer weight quilt over me. It is incredibly comfortable and very warm. The best solution I have found for my back and neck.

I have a very firm mattress made of natural materials, I find that dealing with any spinal issues quickly and using the same mattress most of the time helps. Things that cause problems are overdoing things, a massage gun stops the muscles locking up trying to stop any further problems and making the muscles relax is key to a good nights sleep. Other things that help are a firm shaped pillow to support my neck and take the weight off my shoulders which stops me moving around a lot and helps me relax my muscles.
Going through a set protocol for sleeping helps ensure a good nights rest. Don’t change what works for you? It might seem rather obvious but cuddling up to er indoors, going with what you like counts for more than a mattress!
it’s a grin, honest!

I love my mostly sprung mattress with about the rop 1/3 in memory foam. Also my shaped memory foam pillow.
But there's no substitution for trying before buying. All decent shops will allow you àll the time you need to lie on their beds and see what works.
By the way, you write about a mattress but, if your bed base is olď, there's little point in putting a good new mattress on top.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
