Hi Pauline, I gave up my job last December, as I could not physically do it. Then found out I have osteoarthritis in both knees! Just gutted as I want to stay mobile, but finding it difficult. Pain and stiffness. Not sure how much to exercise, was told to take paracetamol and that’s it! I am not 60 yet but feel older than my years. Unsure what will help,

I haven`t found my gp very helpful, but perhaps I am being too critical, I am 86 years of age, and have had little or no pain, problems, well had two healthy sons, one miscarriage, and the usual female stuff... but other than that, I do have migraines, occasionally and since lockups (as I call them) now have mental issues, well dh did die just before, etc... etc... but compared to so many people I have been healthy..

so doc just says, paracetomol, live with ageing...

    Hello active3

I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my right knee about 16 months ago. My doctor gave me Naproxen for the pain and Omeprazole to help line the stomach. I was also referred to have physio sessions at my local hospital. The Naproxen does help with the pain on the bad days and on better days I take paracetamol. Perhaps you could contact your doctor again and see if he/she could review your pain medication and also refer you for physio? I have been given specific exercises and have been doing them for just over a year now and they have helped, but you have to persevere with them. I must admit I don't do them every day, especially on bad days of pain, but I do feel better and more mobile once I have done them.

You shouldn't have to suffer with the pain and stiffness. Hope this info. helps.

    Take care.🙂

Hi all, how are you? I’ve been having terrible pain in my left knee my first blood test came back saying it’s osteoarthritis went to see the go again to get some help for it, another dr wanted to send me for more blood test and mri scan, blood results say I have gout and mri say different lol not sure what to do. It’s so difficult going up and down stairs sitting from standing and getting up from sitting on top of all that I already have fibromyalgia
