A hello from Barcelona.
Hi, I have osteoarthritis of my left knee (M70) which the surgeon states will require an Arthroplasty when the pain gets problematic. My first question for the forum concerns a new development that happened last night for the first time. I got a sharp pain just above the knee on the left, it was quite an excruciating pain that lasted a couple of seconds and then reoccured every 18 or 20 seconds and gradually went down below the knee to the shin where it became a dull pain and after a couple of hours it gradually eased. Now, Doctor Google suggests it might be Neuralgia? Anyone have any similar experiences or any ideas or thoughts?

Hello @KEITH_SPAIN and welcome to the community. we are a friendly and supportive group and I hope that will be your experience as well.
I understand that you have Osteoarthritis in your left knee and partially in your right knee. I also understand that you have recently had a sharp stabbing pain just above the knee. It would probably be worth a call to your GP to get it checked out, especially if it re-occurs. In the meantime have a look through the following from our website

Please keep posting and let us know how you are getting on and I am sure taht others will connect with you to share their support and experiences as well.
With very best wishes
