Hello,

I have recently had an x ray on my right knee and hands. I have osteoarthritis in my knee, fingertip joints and thumb. I have my first physio appt for my knee at the end of the month. Finding it a struggle to walk at the moment my knee keeps locking up and is very painful. Do walking sticks help?

    Hi Angela2

I too have Osteoarthritis in my right knee, which has been deteriorating more over the last 6 months. I have not been walking outside much at all as I had lost confidence in case of walking too far and not being able to get back home. I realised I needed to do something about this and today I actually went out and bought a foldable walking stick. I am now hoping that this will give me more confidence to get out and start walking again once the weather decides to brighten up and warm up ( I don't have confidence to walk in cold/wet/slippery weather ).

The information on this site is really helpful and no doubt some other lovely people will give you some welcome advice.

Take care and please keep us updated.🙂
