Just diagnosed with severe OA
Hi all. I have just (yesterday) been diagnosed with severe osteoarthritis in my knee after months of excruciating pain. To be honest this has hit me like a ton of bricks as I’d thought I’d torn my meniscus! Doc is going to try a lubricant injection to see if it helps - has anyone had success with this. Trying to delay a replacement as I’m only 53. So glad I have found this group to learn from others.

Hi @wattwrbev
I bet you are in shock having hoped you just needed a rest for a torn meniscus or at the worst a bit of keyhole surgery,
Is it this what they are suggesting?
I know quite a lot of people here have had steroid injections in their knees.
Have you considered trying any of the exercises they recommend here for the knee? I knwo it sounds mad but it really can help
Best of luck and keep posting - it helps!
