Hi I’ve been diagnosed with hip arthritis.I’m in constant pain and have trouble sleeping, hence me finding this site at a ridiculous hour! My mobility in right hip is limited and I struggle getting in and out my car and even taking my dog for a walk can be a challenge. It’s impacted me so quickly and at 52 struggling to come to terms with not being able to do what I used to and feel old before my time.

im hoping to find some support here and even someone in a similar situation and age to chat to.

Like many of us when we were first diagnosed you are struggling to come to terms with your pain, condition and lots of questions. So I hope that we will be able to help with some of the Why's and What's .

I attach some links with information about hip arthritis and sleep problems

    Hi Joanns22.

sorry you are going through it with the pain of Arthritis. We all know on here just what that is like.

I have R A in most of my joints, so can relate to sleepless nights. Are you being prescribed meds from anyone yet?

I does take a while to get your head round not being able to do things exactly how you used to, but you will find your way.meanwhile if you need to off load we are here.

Hi Jo, get how u feel! I put up with knee pain for years, but coped ok after regular cortisone injections. I am 56 and for the last 4 months or so ( probably more like years in truth!) my hips have given me such grief. Can't sleep, up every 2 hours at best , cant walk - feel 20 years older than i should. I have spoken to specialists and my biggest fear is that the whole process will take loger than i can bear. I hope you are able to find good support to help assp. 😻. Xx
