Subtalar fusion (triple arthrodesis)
Hi!
My name is Lucia, I am 32 years old and I've been living with osteoarthritis in both of my ankles for a few years now. I was born with a tarsal coalition which eventually led to OA, but unfortunately I wasn't diagnosed until a few years ago though I've been living with pain most of my life. A year and a half ago I had a a debridement operation in both ankles, but it didn't work for my pain. I've also been getting cortisone injections but again no help at all. I have been told the only chance I have to ease the pain is a triple arthrodesis of my subtalar joint, which I am having tomorrow! Just wanted to know if someone else around here has had the same type of fusion and how are they feeling nowadays. I'm not finding easy to cope with this condition at such a young age, specially because is not easy to find people in the same situation as me, so I'm hoping this forum will also give me that :)
Thank you everyone and sorry for the long post!

Hello and welcome to the forum, @Luckycharm .
I see that you have had problems for some time with your ankles, a delay in diagnosis not helping. Tomorrow you are having a triple arthrodesis of your subtalar joint. Here is a link to information on our website that has information on ankle surgery:
