Awaiting a total hip replacement

I was referred in July 22 ,and I was seen by the consultant in Oct, I need a total left hip replacement.

I'm really struggling now with pain and almost housebound, I have pain at night which keeps me awake. I've been told I'm on category 2 and as I have no underlying health problems I'm on the cancellation list.

I was initially told I I should have my operation by August 23 , I have phoned consultants secretary but he says he cannot tell me where I am on the list and if there is any light at the end of the tunnel.

I understand that you met with a consultant in Oct 2022 and need a left hip replacement. You are in pain, almost housebound and have sleep difficulties. You are on the waiting list and wandering when your procedure will happen.

Hi Tricia999, I'm another Tricia and suffering pretty much the same as you except mine's the right hip.

Pain 24/7, trying to sleep is now a joke etc. I saw my consultant February 22, I still haven't got a date. However they have swapped me to another consultant who said my op might be May 2023, no one can confirm. We are stuck in the painful waiting game. I only hope the strikes don't impact too much as like you I'm housebound for the most part which will in turn provide me with another problem, that being anxiety to go back out into the world. Hope you hear soon.
