Just joined - looking for tips on sport & work
Hi,
I’ve just registered and would love to chat with others to find out how you’ve managed to play sports and which sports are feasible when you’ve got arthritis.
Also wondering if anyone had to give up their career as a result of arthritis.
I used to love playing tennis but can’t anymore and I used to teach Nursery/Reception but can’t do that anymore either!
So I’m embarking on what feels like a new journey and I’m seeking advice please!
Hope to hear back soon, thanks.

@Suri It is an unsettling business being new to arthritis of whatever type. I have had it for 40 odd years. I have worked to retirement age, carried on my chosen sport of dinghy racing and have lived on a narrow boat for the last 20 years. The limit to what you do is what you decide it should be. Don't waste time in regretting the things that are now beyond your grasp but rejoice in the things you have found as substitutes. The best method for dealing with pain is distraction. Concentrate on someting else and it is amazing how the pain diminshes.
I wish you luck. Keep posting.
