Hello Babbie.
I know nothing about RA or much else. But I do think I know about about being overwhelmed with health issues and concerns. I hear you. Having health issues can knock us all down.
I understand what you mean when you say it does feel like it takes over your life, thoughts and the hours of the day..
But is a human thing to feel like that we are all just people. It's a natural feeling to have worries and fears when we are dealing with our illnesses and anxieties about them. But hang in there.
I don't know what you might want help about. But I do know there are bad days, and there will better days ahead, and that sharing how you feel with the good folks in here will help. I am sure it will. Kim 🌻

Hi Babbie.
yep welcome to the club. It’s pretty much taken over mine too. You are however in the right club here. We all know how you feel, and we all support you. What’s your story?0

Hi Babbie, I went from taking my body completely for granted and doing loads of outdoor things, to suddenly being thoroughly wonky. Even after various surgeries, you still have to manage the consequences and nurse your body along, so those carefree days are gone for good, and it can really get me down at times.
On days like that I try to look for small pleasures to keep me going, tiny things like listening to bird song, stopping to look at the flowers, singing along with the radio, a big mug of tea and choccy bics in front of some indulgent tv programme, or ringing a friend, anything to take me out of myself, and get me through the day. Arthiritis is horrible, but life can still be good xx

Hi Babbie,
Yep I do know how you feel. Whenever I’m feeling thoroughly and obnoxiously full of self pity which can end in tears I now try to immediately think of the good things in life and how it will get better, especially with the after effects and benefits of joint replacement. I do know how hard it is with the constant ‘it’s not fair’ but know that that gets me nowhere! So my advice is …try and think positive, it does help. All the very best, B 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Well not so broken as earlier this year, lots of sitting about son gave me a knee brace he had told me to try it. It’s working not sure if it’s doing any good but I feel more secure what with that and the walking stick I was given for Christmas I didn’t bash the grandchildren and I do use it when my hand allows I actually go see the specialist next week after six cancelled appointments so fingers crossed
thank you all for your kind messages
Babbie
