Hi All,

been suffering with Arthritis in my mid foot both feet for years. After many injections had surgery 12 weeks ago. I can barely walk now. The mid foot pain is gone but my feet are so swollen and hurt to walk on and numb. I have a feeling this didn’t work or caused new problems. My weird new shuffle limp walk is causing my knee ( arthritis ) to flare up. It has been a very painfully recovery and is taking a toll on my emotions. So anyone who has done a mid foot fusion ? How did go?

look forward to meeting others so I don’t feel so alone as my friends and family are tired of hearing about my feet

Hi @NicolinaZ welcome to the Online Community. I see from your post that you had a mid foot fusion 12 weeks ago and your foot is still very swollen. You also say the way you are having to walk is affecting your knee now too. This is definitely not a common procedure on here, but people have had it done.

The second is information about foot surgery which does say that fusion surgery can take a long time to heal. I hope you have had or are due to have a follow up consultation so that you can be reassured that the procedure was successful.

I know nothing about mid fusion surgery just wanted to offer my sympathy and send you some ((())).

I also hope you haven't been discharged from the hospital and that maybe you have started some physio by now.
