Osteoarthritis in Knee / Baker’s Cyst / Repeated Knee Tightening & Swelling.
Hi Folks! I’m hoping someone can give me best advice please? I’ve had osteoarthritis in both knees for 30 years, but learned to live with it. No pain, just restricted bending of knee angle. However, 3 months ago & for no apparent reason left knee got swollen and so tight I couldn’t weight bear. This came as a wave of tightness over 60 seconds & caused severe pain. I have a Baker’s cyst & I understand the synovial fluid in my knee had ruptured & caused this. MRI scan indicates I need a full knee joint with 3 yr NHS wait. Current problem is these flare-ups are happening about every 10 days, incapacitating me & leaving me more or less housebound. Does anyone recognise this & have any advice to offer me please? Many thanks. Robert.
