Hello !
I have just been diagnosed with osteoarthritis and I am having to get used to the idea of "managing pain" . Everything looks bleak at the moment as I don't yet know if the combination of painkillers will ease the pain enough to allow me get back to work ( I am a teacher ) , drive and move around freely. I need to get to a position where I can attend my son's wedding in August without worrying about mobility or pain management issues.

Hello @runningal
I am pleased you have found this friendly and supportive forum. I hope you get help with your issues from others who have been through - or are going through - the same experiences as you. It is quite daunting at first but hopefully once you get into a regime of exercises and pain killers you will find it much easier to cope.
Here is some information which I hope will give you some more insight and help:
Please keep posting and let us know how you are getting on and I am sure that others will connect with you to share their support and experience as well.
With best wishes
Caryl
