New Post
Hello I am new and Tried as it instructs to Click on New Post but sorry unable to find it
I have spinal stenosis due to Osteo Arthritis worse on R side had L side operated on 25 years ago and is not a problem .It means my mobility is limited as a i lean forwards when I walk which is not a position you should walk in .The pain I have is down my rt leg and on my R side and wonder if it is my Sacro Iliac joint which is inflamed as I did damage this many years ago .
Battling to get a Xray at the moment . I use a walking frame but is very restrictive there as even pavements are not easy to negotiate everything geared towards wheel chair users and walking frames users on the whole forgotten . Anyone having same problems and found some solutions🐔

Hello @squirelnutkins and welcome to the online community,
I understand you have spinal stenosis due to osteoarthritis and your mobility is limited. You currently are experiencing pain in your right leg and side which you think might be due to an inflamed sacroiliac joint and you are trying to get an x ray for this. You,d like to know if any others have similar problems and any solutions with getting out and about with a walking frame.
First of all, you did manage to post a new post in the right place, so well done! If you want to have a look at a guide on how to use the forum, here’s a link that might help:
If you’re having trouble walking outside, it might be worth asking to be referred to an occupational therapist who can advise on the best mobility aids for you. Walking frames are generally for use indoors but there is other equipment that might be more suitable, such as a rollator. Here’s a link to what else occupational health can help with:

Hi! I’m new to the forum too. I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in 2010. My hands, left knee and foot, neck, shoulders and lower back are affected. I’m going through a flare-up at the moment, which is very painful to say the least. Seeing a chiropractor on Monday pm.
Good to have this forum, where people understand what others are experiencing.

Hello, everyone.
I'm new to this forum, live alone (apart from my three cats) and moved to a new location(Seaham, Co.Durham) following separation from my husband.
I have had Arthritis since my 40's (now 75 years of age) and it affects most of my joints.
Apart from Painkillers, bought over the counter, I have no prescribed treatment.
Looking forward to chatting with others.

Hi everyone this is the first time for me.I have osteoarthritis and spinal stenosis, also arthritis in my hands and wrists, cartilage gone in both knees and slight arthritis in both.Ive had sciatica for around 30 yrs while working in the care sector in the days when there was no such thing as a hoist, slip mats ,etc.We were taught to do manual handling, Australian lift etc.My main problem is that I'm unable to take stronger prescribed medications, nasty side effects.Ive also found it hard to get medical proffessionals to take " wear and tear" seriously.Im 64 yrs old and had to leave work and miss it desperately. I have moved recently into an adapted bungalow which is so much better.I use heat and movement, gels and amitriptyline.I take paracetamol and ibuprofen when needed. When I have a flare up I just roll with it and listen to my body.I know the pain is mad but I know the flare up will pass eventually.I had a steroid injection in my right knee which was absolutely painless in February and fingers crossed has lasted to date.Im having a nerve block in my spine in September.Has this worked for anyone else ?
