Hello
I am in need of a hip replacement plus something for my spinal issue, a scoliosis. I would value any tips on how to cope with severe pain etc, no position is comfortable or pain free. Would physio help at all, I have been offered it?
I feel we have to fight for treatment, it has taken me a lot to get a referral to a hip surgeon. I also find little regard is given to wheelchairs users, pavements and roads (potholes) are a nightmare. Have others found this?
Thank you. ☹️

Hello @Jeanniephoenix welcome to the online community
You have been advised to have a hip replacement and have asked if any of our members have any tips on how to deal with severe pain. We are glad you found us, we are here to offer support to anyone affected with living with arthritis . Some of our members have written some really helpful posts about pre and post hip operations which I hope you will find interesting.
You ask whether physio would help, certainly keeping your joints and muscles as flexible as possible pre and post operation will benefit your recovery considerably. There are also some really helpful new stretching videos that you can follow online which will also be of benefit.
I attach some links which I hope you will find useful
There are lots of posts related to hip replacements which you might find interesting once you have had time to absorb all of the above information.
You have started an interesting thread which I am sure will provoke some discussion among our members about wheelchair users, pavements and potholes.
We look forward to hearing from you again soon
Best wishes
Poppyjane
