Arthritis in both shoulders
I’ve just been diagnosed with arthritis in both shoulders. After experiencing pain in my arms for most of last year .I managed to actually see a doctor face to face in January this year .Had a scan a few weeks ago and am currently off work resting.
My shoulders are so sore and achy ,especially first thing in a morning or if I wake in the night .
I’m going for my first physio appointment in a few days. Will this help to ease my symptoms .

Welcome to the forum, @Rosyposy .
I see that you have recently been given a diagnosis of arthritis in both shoulders and are waiting on your first physio appointment. You ask if you can expect an easing in your symptoms. Movement and exercise are generally held to help the symptoms of arthritism, and a properly structured regime under advice from a physiotherapist is best of all. The relief will not be immediate, and patience is needed.
Here are some links to information on the condition, exercise and pain management.
Good luck and keep posting to let us know how you get on.

My biggest takeaway from scans and physio was a better understanding of what movements are painful and where is the actual damage. I realised I was living with bad posture so I corrected for it and found some improvement.
There seems to be levels of improvement, such as enough improvement that my hands stopped swelling up, or my upper arms stop feeling like I been punched, or I can quit from meds and still cope with the shoulder pain.

Yes,I know what you mean about the feeling like your arms had been punched .The meds I’m on don’t take away my pain completely ,they just take the edge off the pain. It’s all new to me,so have to see how I am in coming weeks .
