At a loss
Hi all, I'm on a six month waiting list for ankle fusion surgery due to arthritis. I've been told I will be non weight baring and recovery for 6 to 9 months. I work full time, live alone, have a mortgage and everything else that goes along as far as bills etc. I have no help and I really don't know what I'm going to do to manage all this! I've looked at the gov Web site but it's all so confusing. I'm really at a loss to be honest on where to start.

Hello @Carolla63 welcome to the online community
You are awaiting surgery and have been advised that post your ankle fusion operation you may need 6 to 9 months recovery time. You are feeling confused about what help is available .We are a friendly and supportive group who are here to offer help to anyone affected by living with arthritis, so I hope that the following links will help relieve some of the confusion.
You may also like to consider exercises pre operation to help your ankle and leg muscles stay as flexible and mobile as possible which will benefit your post operation recovery. I attach another link and also wondered if you have a chance to swim because this is a great way to exercise your ankle.
Hope this has not overloaded you with information! Probably created lots more questions to ask, so do not hesitate to post again and I am sure our members will have lots of ideas to support you.
Take care
Poppyjane
