Problems with blood results

Hi All.not been having a good time of late.recent blood tests whilst on Sulphsalazine has shown my body is not absorbing iron. Have to have some tests done. Anyone else had this problem? I am so worried.

    From time to time my bloods have shown my haemoglobin levels were low. My rheumatologist told me that both RA and the DMARDS can cause this. In the end a short course of iron sorted it every time but maybe you're talking of something different as I guess if your body is actually not absorbing iron then that wouldn't work.

    If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

    Hi @Woofy

    Are you taking NSAIDs and a PPI like omeprazole? PPIs reduce the amount of acid in you stomach which means that you may not be able to break down food and absorb vitamins and minerals as well as before. When I was on omeprazole my blood tests showed at different times B9, B12 and D3 deficiencies.
