Hi everyone, new on here, not new to arthritis, had scoliosis as a child, always just got on as best I can, stopped taking meds as made me either sick or stoned about 6 yrs ago told it was also Scheuermann's disease, Arthritis seems to be affecting lots more joints from Jaw, hips ,elbows, back & I am now 55. last week my knees collapsed and told I need knee replacements. I use Nordic Walking, not massive distances and work as much as possible. Anything I can do to avoid surgery

Hi @TheresaM welcome to the online community
You have had arthritis for a number of years but last week your knees collapsed and you have been told you need replacements. Other joints are also affected and you are keen to avoid surgery as you are only 55.
Numbers of our members have concerns about their knees and have written about their experiences which I hope you will find helpful in your decision making about surgery. I attach some links with some information ( the first one is quite dated ,)and some members comments.

There is a lot of information available and loads of members comments so do look round the community and get back to us with your own experiences and questions. We look forward to hearing from you.
Take care
