request for advice on recovery after "anterior" hip replacement technique
Hello everyone!
Two years ago, my surgeon performed the "posterior" hip replacement surgery method on my right hip. It was quite a long recovery, but it went well.
Next week, on April 27, my surgeon will be performing the "anterior" hip replacement surgery method on my left hip.
I have been told that the recovery is faster, the scar much smaller, and I have no restrictions of angles, etc..
I would be immensely grateful for any tips, advice, or the experience of others who have had "anterior" hip replacement surgery.
Thanking you in advance!

Hello @floodedsky welcome to the online community
You have already experienced a posterior hip replacement and are due to have anterior hip surgery very soon. You are asking if any of our members have any tips to advise you .
Many of our members have experienced hip surgery and it would be interesting to learn if they feel there is likely to be a difference in recovery time . There are some very interesting threads which have described peoples' recovery almost from day 1 after their operation so I will attach a link for your information. Also the link to Lets Move exercise programmes which many of us have followed pre and post operation and have found very helpful in our recoveries.
We wish you well for your operation on April 27th and hope that you will post about your experience and thoughts about the two different surgical procedures.
Best wishes
Poppyjane
