Hello all

I have recently within the past year been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. This year has been really hard both mentally and physically. It's hard talking to people who have no idea how you are feeling. Sometimes I feel quite isolated. Every day seems to bring different feelings and/or pain. This is why I've joined this group so I can support others and hopefully chat with people who can help me too.

    Hi @Dennison72,

Thank you and welcome to the online community 😊

It can feel quite difficult when dealing with arthritis not only physically, but mentally and emotionally too. And it's so lovely that you've joined to be that support for other people who might be experiencing something similar to yourself. Don't forget to take care of yourself to.

We also have the 'Living with arthritis' thread on here which may be helpful. You'll find a link to the thread below:

    Best wishes,

    Welcome to the forum @Dennison72

Sorry about your diagnosis, but you are in good company here loads of us have RA or another form of inflammatory arthritis.

Plenty with Osteoarthritis too we all understand pain.

I hope you'll decide to hang around.

    Take care

    Hello. Welcome.

sorry you have R A. I was diagnosed roughly 15 months ago, like a bolt out of the blue. Investigations on going, because my inflammatory markers are not as high as some. Believe me though the pain is real. I am currently trying Methotrexate (five weeks in) and I am on steroids until my meds hopefully kick in. Anything you need to know just ask us on here. Think most of us are getting pretty clued up on this horrible condition. I have made peace with this illness, and try to cope with whatever it throws at me now. I take each day as it comes, and appreciate the better days.

Thank you for your reply. Yes I am also week 6 on Methatrexate and Hydroxychloroquine. It has helped my hands and feet a little so far but I'm still in pain with my knees. Trying to ride through the side effects currently... Thank you all for making me feel so welcome. It's hard to explain but just knowing I can reach out to someone or give someone advice really helps. Thank you all once again. 🫶
