Rheumatoid arthritis - new
Hi, I was recently diagnoses with rheumatoid arthritis -early stage.
I am on methotrexate, no any side effected. I was feel good so I went to do see kayaking.
Unfortunately 2 days later I was in big pain during night. It is normal had this side effect after sport 2 days later? I wasn't sure what is happening because it was worse pain so far what I had.
I am working full time in office but feel tired a lot afterwards? It will be better or fatigue is normal with this illness?
Many thanks
Metelka

Hello @Metelka welcome to the online community,
You have RA and have been taking MTX with no problems of side effects. After an energetic kayaking session you are experiencing a painful episode. We are not medically qualified to give advice but speaking from my own experience I think you have done what many of us have done before and have gone for "boom and bust" This is when on a good day you think you can manage to keep going and push your body too far until it turns round to say I feel bust! I have had RA for a long time and I still do it ! When will we learn?
Don't let this stop you doing anything but it is your body saying moderate your activities.
I attach some links which I hope you will find interesting
Pain always seems worse at night and many of our members have tips on how they cope with it, I hope some share their experiences with you. I hope you feel better soon, we look forward to hearing from you again .
Best wishes
Poppyjane
