Wrist and arm pain

Hi I’m new to this. Just diagnosed with RA, was give steroid injection 2 weeks ago and on Methotrexate and folic acid. Steroid injection has not given me any relief, is this usual? Also have developed a pain in my wrist that is excruciating. Nothing helping. Feels twisted and pains going to underarm. In my head, I can’t believe this is all RA. Going through the menopause and wondered if anyone can advise if HRT helps or hinders. Thanks, sorry for long post !
