Newly diagnosed
I have had symptoms for five months. It has so far, at different times, affected my eyes, ankles, knees, hands, right hip, left shoulder and currently in the nape of my neck. I start methotrexate this Monday coming. I was and still am an active 74 year old. Retired biomedical scientist/teacher. Need reassurance that this drug will help me. Im trying to avoid needing assistance and a wheelchair!! Long term.
thanks

hi @Janet987
welcome to the online community, its good you are reaching out and joining our forums.
you write that you have been diagnosed with arthritis for 4 months now and suffer pain in most areas. You are starting on Methotrexate on Monday and want to know and reassurance if this will work.
When we began our journey of arthritis we all needed reassurance and talking to others delivers just that talking about your experiences and getting replys helps so much.
We all try to avoid being wheelchair bound thats why i have had replacements to avoid it and we all find ways of coping with our various forms of Arthritis.
Here are a few links that may help you
I have given you information about both arthritis as you can see and one on Pain management.
Please let us know how you get on and do go onto our forums to chat to others that often helps.
All the best Christine
