Campaign
I am proud to have been one of the campaigners invited to take part in the Versus Arthritis campaign held at Westminster recently. What a fantastic experience it was. Talking to MPs, information and data flowed from areas of Versus Arthritis. I got to put my opinion over about my personal experience of living with Osteoarthritis. Both as a nurse and a patient. I heard lots of assurances that they would take some form of action on behalf of their constituents.

Hi @kenbo thank you and well done for being part of the campaigners. Glad you enjoyed it but great to put the Arthritis message to the forefront of MPs minds

I cannot understand why the government seems unable to see the economic return investment in the NHS would bring in longer term reductions in health care costs and in enabling more people to be working, earning money and paying more tax. According to: https://www.versusarthritis.org/news/2023/april/is-the-elective-recovery-plan-in-england-working-for-people-with-arthritis/ as of December 2022, 800,000 people were on trauma and orthopaedic waiting lists (including hip and knee operations). This is not only as a result of Covid because as can be seen from the graph on this page: https://www.patientclaimline.com/article/knee-hip-replacement-waiting-times/ the downward trend in numbers treated within the old 18 week target has been a feature since 2012 and is now continuing at an even faster rate.

hI @RogerBill this is indicative that the UK government (of whichever party) can never see beyond the 5 year horizon of getting elected so as a nation never looks at a longer term vision.
