Osteoarthritis of the lower back and spine.
Hi all
I have been diagnosed with osteoarthritis of the lower back and spine. My doctor's has given me medication for the pain. 10 mg morphine patches and 50 mg amitriptyline. Drs appointment are still over the phone and they won't put this medication on repeat prescription. I have now started physio after over a year on the waiting list. Still waiting to for an appointment with the msk clinic 8 months on the waiting list. I am not sure at all about the medication. Some days are better than others. What do other people take and does accupunture actually help.
Thanks for any suggestions or help

Hi @Nicholas
Welcome to the versus arthritis forum.
You have been diagnosed with OA in your back and spine and are taking medication prescribed by your doctor. You have recently started physio and await an msk appointment. You’d like to hear from any forum members who have tried acupuncture and if it helped.
I have OA in my lower back and did, a few years ago, try acupuncture. I have to say that it didn’t work for me but then everyone is different.

I hope you receive some useful feedback.
