Arthritis or Bursitis pain

Anyone else who has been told that you have arthritis on the patella, do you experience pain when you lie on your side in bed.?I find that I have to rest my right knee on a small cushion otherwise the knee feels really sore. It doesn't feel so bad when I'm walking. I was also told 10 weeks ago, that I had pes anserine bursitis on this knee so I'm not sure if pain is caused by arthritis or the bursitis.
