Hello @Lisa_marie54 and welcome to our friendly and supportive Community. I hope that will be your experience as well.
I understand that you have osteoarthritis in your hands and feet and possible rheumatoid arthritis in your elbows and possibly hips. I understand that this is causing you pain and I've put a couple of links in below which I hope may be of some use.

I've been on patches since August and found they get rid of about 75-80% of pain. I have considered asking for stronger ones but think a bit of pain is manageable and stops me from doing too much when it kicks in.
I do top up the patches when necessary with my tens machine, red tiger balm and if it's really bad and I need something else I will top up with a tramadol. I take two paracetamol when I go to bed to help me sleep.
My patches are the lowest dose buprenorphine which I change weekly.
If it really gets to the point that I can't cope I'll ask for the dose to be increased.
I am seeing the hip clinic on the 25th and hoping that continued pain in the patches might convince them to fix me sooner rather than later.
Love n hugs
Trish xx

Hi @Jan73 and welcome to the online community (sorry to hijack your thread @Lisa_marie54 ),
I'm sure you'll find some useful information on the forum about dealing with the pain of osteoarthritis - all our members have experience of living with some kind of arthritis and are keen to give supportive advice. Of course, pain and pain treatment is a personal thing, so what works for one won't necessarily work for another, but it's a good idea to see what is about that may be able to help.
You might be interested in the link below from the Versus Arthritis webpage - it talks about different treatments available for arthritis, including common drugs, alternative treatments and ideas for self help:
