Foot pain

I manage foot pain from plantar fasciitis which is worse at night using physiotape from toes to heels. A recent flare up of arthritis in addition is keeping me awake at night though I also have a cradle to hold the weight of the duvet off my feet. Could podiatry services be of help? Penny

I sympathise @PennyHenderson . What the Rheumatologists said to me is the podiatrist or whatever would be in a better position to tell me what is going on with my foot which has <technical name> in the joints somewhere. I turned it down, as I was more concerned at the time I couldn't use my arms and already had arm physio to contend with. My argument was I already had enough to worry about.

Today my foot hurts like stink to use for the first time in ages, so its time for some intense nursing. On goes the compression sox, deep heat, and supportive house slippers. An ibuprofen tablet normally works wonders but I am on my second tablet in two days, which tells me all is not well.

Podiatry recommended supportive shoes. They do help. New Balance trainers and walking boots.

At night I have a metal ‘cradle’ that holds the duvet up away from feet… but it is chilly so I have a hot water bottle to keep feet warm.

I use ‘physiotape’ under my feet from base of toes to past the heel. Helps a lot. Can buy in Boots or some local pharmacies or online.
