This is my first post. I had a total right knee replacement two years ago and continue to have pain in the new joint. It’s been x-rayed and my consultant says he’s happy with the results and can’t understand why I am still having pain. Has anybody else had the same experience?

Morning @Nettie welcome to the online community.

I see from your post that you are still experiencing pain two years after having a total knee replacement. Fairly short term pain post-operatively is commonly discussed here, but less so 2 years later.

I did a quick search for you (Top right hand side of the page - the magnifying glass icon) and got the following results:

I didn't get much when I put in 'knee surgery' more with just 'surgery'.

Have you thought about asking for a second opinion?

    Best wishes

    Ellen.

Hi Ellen thank you for your response. I am in the process of trying to get a second opinion. My GP has also written to enquire as to whether an MRI scan is the best way forward.

    Regards
