Hello @Ronniemarklouise_3 (Anne) and welcome to the Community. We are a friendly and supportive group and I hope that will be your experience too.

I understand from your post that you are experiencing a lot of pain in your knees. This can drag you down and can feel very debilitating, limiting daily activities. It sounds as if you have been going through a rough time. There are things you can do to help manage your condition. I am not sure what type of arthritis you have.

It may help to go back to your GP to talk things through further and explore treatment options. I am glad you had the opportunity to have steroid injections but these only give temporary relief of symptoms. NSAID gels such as Voltarol or Ibuprofen, Capsaicin cream on prescription or Flexiseq bought over the counter, may be worth a try and help to reduced the number of tablets you are taking. Heat and/or cold may help too. Referral to the musculoskeletal (MSK) service, physiotherapy or an orthopaedic specialist may be worth considering.

The right kind of exercises a little and often, pacing yourself and balancing activity with rest, may help to make a difference to how you feel and help you to be in less pain. Eating a healthy balanced diet and maintaining a healthy weight will help to put less strain on your joints.

If you would like to have more replies to your post, you are welcome to repost on our Living with Arthritis forum which is a supportive space where you can ask questions and share experiences with others facing similar challenges.

I hope the information given below will be of some help.

Please keep posting and let us know how you are getting on and I am sure that others will connect with you to share their support and experience as well.
