Psoriatic arthritis
Hi, I walk my dogs every day, but worry about slipping / falling in the wet weather. I walk in a remote area, don't want to be around others. Has anyone got any practical tips to help keep from twisting joints when walking?

Hi @DPotts
I've also got PsA and walk my dog every day. I think it's the best way to keep my joints moving. Hail, rain or shine he needs to go out so even if I don't have any motivation to do so he does. My walks are on canal paths and recognised green walkways as well as in a couple of country parks so not really remote but can be quiet. I use elasticated knee supports as my left knee in particular is painful with any sideways movement. I always wear good walking shoes with plenty of tread - vibram soles are great. I take a small backpack with me with a collapsible walking stick in it in case I go over on my knee and need it. I also make sure my phone is charged and easily accessible.

Hello @DPotts welcome to the online community,
You are a keen dog walker but are concerned about injury to your joints in the wet weather. You are not alone in that concern I certainly am more cautious especially on damp leaves. I attach a link to top tips for walking with arthritis
You might also like to look at the link for different sorts of exercise, there are some very helpful stretching videos that many members follow to maintain mobility
