Left Knee with arthritis

Morning- I can still walk at nearly 90 but obviously a little painful at times. Knee Surgeon advised replacement not necessary but carry on walking and do exercises. Haven't followed this up because of a variety of problems but wondering if you have any simple knee exercises which would help.

Thank you

Hello @Oldfella90 and welcome to the Community.

So good to hear that you are still keeping active. You ask about simple knee exercises, have a look at the following video made by Versus Arthritis.

Please let us know how you get on.

Quick hello from me to you @Oldfella90

    Lovely to meet you.

I just want to give you a pat on the back and say well done for keeping going. This morning on my walk I saw a chap I know who is 96 and still walks every day albeit slowly. People like you two inspire me. Thank you

    Fantastic to read your post.

  • Thank you Frogmorton. The knee surgeon said replacement not necessary and that if my knee was a house I'd be down to the floorboards, no carpets left.

It's a question of building up muscle to support the knee by exercises. I'm following Will Harlow on Youtube Physio for the over 50s.

I hope by 96 I'll still be able to get around- good on him. We've just got to keep going as long as we can. Have a good weekend.

  • Thank you Peter will persevere.
