Lung function test
Hi, in September my rheumatologist ordered a lung function test. Yesterday I got a letter to say results were borderline for DLco and I need a CT scan. I tried calling rheumatology but yesterday they were busy and nobody answered, today their phone lines are closed. In the absence of any explanation in letter or available through a phone chat I googled it and now I’m freaking out!
Im going on holiday now, cases are going in the car as I type. I didn’t sleep last night, I can’t eat, I am terrified about this and what it means.
Can anyone help me understand what it means and what it means for my future.
Thank you.

Hi
I've done a search on posts on the Community and it pulls up some results - might be worth having a look through them.
Best wishes
Peter

RA can affect the lungs and other internal organs. Usually it doesn't. I've had it over sixty years and it hasn't. But a friend has had rheumatic nodules on her lunhs for some time. No symptoms. She's now doing OK having been switched to rituximab. Have a read here https://nras.org.uk/resource/the-effects-of-ra-on-the-lungs/
Enjoy your holiday.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
