I am new to this community and wish to introduce myself

Hi, I am Sharman and I have osteoarthritis of the knees, hips and vertebra. The vertebrae are compounded by scoliosis, stenosis and spondolithesis. I live with severe sciatica.

I struggle to live normal life eg stairs, walking the dog and working in my garden and kitchen because I have difficulty standing.

I loved cycling and swimming both are difficult now

The pandemic lockdowns did not help me because this is when it all started.

    Hi @Skunes

Thank you for posting on our Online Community, we are sorry to hear that your condition is affecting your day-to-day life it must be really challenging for you.

Thank you, Peter for adding those links for Sharman we hope they have helped.

Firstly, have you spoken to your GP about a medication review or a referral to a Pain management programme, with this programme you would be able to get access to various specialists such as physio, and they help you to build on your ability to live well when you’re in pain.

Secondly a referral to see an Occupational therapist could help as well, they would be able to do an assessment within your home, if they consider that adaptions are necessary and appropriate so that you are able to live independently they will pass on a recommendation to your local council. They will also teach you how to do things differently so as not to put too much of a strain on your joints.

    Best wishes
