Leg giving way and Pain
Hi can anyone help for a matter of weeks now I have had a pain in my groin when I walk it is on and off not constant however the problem with it is that it gives way sometimes the pain spreads to my buttock Therefore I am wondering if this is trouble with my hip or has it to do with the knee area as I also have Arthritis problems with my knee it is very frustrating any info much appreciated.
Thank you.

Your symptoms sound similar to mine, I often wondered if it was my knee.
Turns out it was arthritis in my back and hips, my right side hip is bone on bone and I'm on the waiting list for a hip replacement. This is the side where my leg feels like giving way from time to time.
Hope you get to the bottom of it.

Hi @Wonderwoman89 without a full diagnosis by x-ray or scan you will never know because of referred pain throughout the entire leg. You should speak to your doctor to arrange an x-ray, hope you can make some sense of it and find out exactly what the problem is.

Pain in your groin is a classic symptom of problems with your hip, but as John suggests it would be a very good idea to get your GP to arrange an x-ray. In fact, insist!

Thank you so much for the replies and I have an appointment with MSK team so I will be asking a lot of questions and wanting a lot of definite answers of the way forward to get this sorted asap.
Much appreciated :-)
