Recovery from ankle fusion surgery

Hi I’m new to the forum but not to OA unfortunately! I have been waiting 18 months for ankle fusion surgery and now been given a provisional date but just wondered if anyone could advise of their recovery time ie how long wearing a cast etc. thanks

Now on Week 9 following left ankle fusion! The first 6 weeks were non weight bearing which I found difficult but now in a boot for a further 6 weeks. Feeling much much more positive. Have managed to walk upstairs and downstairs this week wearing a boot. I think preparing myself before the operation was the best thing I could have done. I also made sure that I talked through with my family what was going to be happening to me over this period before my operation.
