Allopurinol

I have recently started to take Allopurinol to help with my gouty arthritis. I have noticed that my flare ups are less frequent and less intense but I am experiencing stiffness and soreness in the muscles and tendons around my knees, ankles and elbows. Has anyone else had similar symptoms?
