Methotrexate injection side effects
I had my first methotrexate injection last Friday 8th March in the morning because I couldn't tolerate the tablets.I administered it myself watched by the RA nurse and I found it relatively easy.I was told I might get a headache but no stomach problems.I felt ok the rest of the day but by mid morning the next day I started feeling really unwell.I got a terrible headache and was so tired I could barely keep my eyes open, and felt lightheaded and faint and queasy.I dosed myself with paracetamol but had to spend the rest of the weekend in bed.Even on Monday morning I still felt lightheaded and weak.I have been taking 5mg every day as advised by the nurse since Saturday.I feel slightly better today but washed out.Do these awful side effects get better as your body gets used to the methotrexate ? I was diagnosed with RA and possibly Sjogrens last October and am still not any regular medication so am getting a bit despondent as I'm desperate to get on some treatment!
