rough day with inflammatory arthritis

Options

Hi, six months since diagnosis i've recently started Idalimumab and Methotrexate injections as the Methotrexate tablets messed up my bowels (although I do have my mobility back). I've had no social life since September as im always feeling tired and ill. I've recently lost my appetite and continue to feel ill, today I have no energy, feel ill and tired. I'm beginning to think that I will never feel any better and be able to socialise again, is this just me or is this a common feeling for others with a similar condition? Thanks.

Hi @andywright Ialso had these feelings when I was taking MTX. The side effects made me housebound for almost 3 days . I started to feel what's the point of taking a drug to help get me out ,when the actual drug was causing me to be housebound in another way. It was very depressing.

I'm taking adalimumab now but the tiredness is catching up on me. I feel I have no energy for anything , now worried again that I'm.not getting my life back.

I feel ive been predominantly housebound for almost 3.5yrs

Hi @andywright thanks for posting on the Online Community. So sorry to hear how you are feeling. Poor appetite can be one of the side effects with medication, as well as feeling fatigued. Fatigue can also be due to having an inflammatory type of arthritis condition. We do understand, it can be hard to come to terms with a long term condition which can be emotional as well as physical and it is important to explain to your rheumatologist and GP how you are feeling. Do continue to reach out to chat to others here on the Online Community and you may also find it helpful to give us a call on the Helpline to chat things through. I hope the links below will also help with understanding around how you are feeling.

    Best wishes

I have inflammatory arthritis and I feel the same! I haven't been able to leave the house since November and it's been very lonely!
