Introductory post
Walking is awkward and everyday is painful .
I am 52 and have always been very lively and fast paced and now I am just so worried how this is going to affect my life I’ve always worked and have been a palliative heath care assistant for nine years . Which is a heavy job but I loved my job .
Also really upset that I probably will not be able to work , sitting laying and standing is so very uncomfortable.

Hi @tricia72 Welcome to the online community. I see from your post that you are suffering with quite significant spinal issues and are waiting to 'see someone' for a treatment plan.
I know there are a few of our members with similar issues who might be able to suggest coping strategies which have helped them. In the meantime I am going to pop a link in which might be of interest to you:
Now I'll leave you to meet some of the members here.
This time while you are in limbo must be very frightening I hope once you know what can be done you will feel much better about the future.
Best wishes
Ellen.

Hi- I have been diagnosed with arthritis in my right knee, that has become debilitating with pain, and despite exercises is not getting better. I have been working with an orthopedic doctor, and now am scheduled to meet with a surgeon to discuss knee surgery. I am 42, and have been working on losing weight, but now I’m struggling just to work and feeling depressed that I’m not able to be active.
I really appreciate hearing from others who are going through this. Thank you.0 -

Here is some very general information that you might like to read :
It is possible to search the VA website by clicking on the magnifying glass to the left on the big red 'donate' button at the far right of the screen (if you follow the link above), there a great deal of helpful info.
