methotrexate pen
My partner was diagnosed with Polymyalgia Rheumatica over a 2 and a half years ago and has been on steroids ever since. The doctors put him on Methotrexate tablets last August but because of the side efffect's he came off it after 4 weeks.
He felt better after this time and decided to cut down on all tablets so we set about weaning him off the steroids but unfortunately he suffered a flare up so 2 weeks before he came off all steroids he was back up to 5mg.
The doctors have now suggested that he tries the Methotrexate pen.
On reading up about this it seems the side effects are just as bad as the tablets.
Can someone advise us if the pen is better and how to cope with the side effects

You would have to try it steroids are short term solutions and can cause issues in the long term so need to seek alternatives methotrexate can cause side effects for a good while but touch wood they settle for some of us but this can be a good 2 months before this happens
