Newly diagnosed
Hi all I am new here and recently been diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my hands. My thumb on my right hand is worse. I get a lot pain and stiffness plus I have possible carpal tunnel in my left hand. Are any of you on PIP for this thank you

No I was refused pip, the young lady didn’t tell the truth! The part of the body that is painful is the part that we tend to pay the most attention to so being mindful and not paying attention to that part can work well. What I have described is a well known and taught cognisant ability. Mind you if you tried and teach me years ago I would have pooh poohed the idea! I have had OA since I was young and widespread over the years and RA for many years and I can confirm this amongst many methods of coping.
I have just had carpal and cubic tunnel relief at 68 and it is a big relief. Next side soon.

Hello @Elisamatt and welcome to the Community. We are a friendly and supportive group and I hope that will be your experience as well. I too have arthritis in my thumb but I haven't applied for a PIP so can't comment on how successful this would be. I hope it works for you.
