Advice please 🙂
hello, I have had 2 hip replacements in the past 3 year due to arthritis, I am 49 years old, I am in agony every day with back pain, i have been left with a a tilted pelvis, I have got a disc that is protruding on my sciatic nerve which give me pain, I struggle to walk far each day, the doctors are going around in circles, I work full time, I was wondering if I would be able to claim any kind of disability benefit? I have just got a blue badge to help. I need the extra support to fund when I get support in my shoes which cost a fortune each time, as the NHS just said get shoe raising from Amazon which are not fit for purpose to help,

- Sometimes, as I found, you have to be prepared to voice your case, loudly!
- Ask for the Pain Clinic referral from your GP. They do a few weeks. Long course.
- Tell your Consultant you need the services of the Podiatrist.
- Keep the letters that the Consultants send you and apply for PIP!
- It’s a grin, honest!

Depends on hospital size but you could ask your gp to refer you to a orthotics dept where they can make from scratch or modify shoes, trainers for you. Ive been buying squash trainers for over 20 years and orthotics totally remove part of the sole and build up the support to one side and remake them. If i just wear the new trainer they give way within a couple of weeks and are ruined. (picture below).
Youve made the first step getting a blue badge so next step is as mentioned above applying for PIP
good luck.
