Hi
Thankyou for welcoming me to your community.
I have arthritis in my hip. Got another 6 months or so to wait for an initial appointment with orthopaedics, then will hopefully go on a waiting list which unfortunately is several years long.
I get radiating pain down the outside of my leg, into the front of my knee & down into my foot. worse when standing. Is this usual, & if so, anyone got any ideas how I can relieve it apart from painkillers, which I try to keep for when it’s very bad.
Thank you in advance.

@lizziebeth I find that standing for too long and going stiff is deadly. I seem much better off if I find a seat on the tram, or I stand on one leg and get the other one wiggling to get the stiffness out. My physio showed me to stand on one leg to improve my knees. There might be other exercises
