Hypermobility in feet with arthritis
I've increasingly been finding walking in a stable way much more of a challenge. Arthritis in both knees and I thought probably in feet. I was referred to Biomechanics who said I have hypermobility in my feet, which means they are not supporting my body and causing referred extra aches and pains when I walk. They gave me orthotic insoles, which I used immediately without looking properly at the leaflet which advises just an hour a day and build up slowly. My feet and legs are now much more painful, especially calves and the big muscles at the back of my knees. I've stopped using them at the moment. Anyone else had this and how did they deal with it? I know the orthotics are meant to strengthen my muscles but scared to use them again.

Sorry @Minty I haven't heard f this but did you a search of all posts regarding hypermobility maybe there is something in there for you?
I hope when your legs have had a chance to recover you can try the orthotics again but this time much more slowly.
Perhaps a chat with your Dr or the Biomechanics team might reassure you that you haven't done permanent damage?
Best wishes and i do hope you feel better soon.
Ellen.
