Hayfever & Methotrexate
Hi Everyone
My wife was diagnosed with RA in April 2022 and methotrexate has worked for her in getting her condition under relative control.
She seems to be getting hayfever symptoms currently.
Does anybody know if medication such as Loratodine is compatible with Methotrexate?
Thanks very much!

By suppressing her immune system the meth should make your wife less susceptible to hayfever. However, some of us still manage it😆 My rheumatologist suggested 'a non-drowsy one' and the pharmacist gave me cetirizine. If in doubt ask your pharmacist ensuŕing he or she knows all the meds your wife is taking.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hi @DDD79 ,
Welcome to the online community! Everyone here is very friendly and supportive so please do carry on asking questions and join in any conversations where you feel comfortable.
I would suggest that you speak to your GP or pharmacist about whether your wife can take antihistamines such as loratodine with Methotrexate - everyone is different and can react to medications in different ways, especially if they are taking different drugs for other conditions.
Best wishes,

I sometimes find this website useful (however still best speaking to a qualified professional!)

Ive been on methotrexate 20mg since 2001 and have taken Loratadine for longer than that and not noticed any affects but as mentioned we are all different and always advisable to check with your GP first.
